A history written in granite
Dubova Villas is set in a granite-rich land inhabited since the stone age. The village of Dolní Lomnice — “Lower Quarry” — reflects its deep-rooted connection to Kunice’s stonemasonry past, and local legends speak of gold once panned from nearby streams.
At the heart of the village stands the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, first recorded in the Chronicle of Kunice. Engraved into its 14th-century stone is the year 970 — marking the site where, according to legend, the first chapel once stood.
